Senior Consultant – Lean Manufacturing

Mentality: Razor-sharp in analysis, creative in concept, and hands-on in implementation

on a freelance arrangement

Education
Master degree in Engineering or manufacturing related field

Professional experience

10 years experience in automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1), thereof:

• 3-5 years of practical, hands-on experience in implementing Lean minimum of 3 years management experience
• minimum of 3 years experience in multinational Consulting company
• International experience will be a plus

Qualifications / competences / skills

• Detailed knowledge about the Toyota Production System, Lean transformation and the facilitation of workshops is a must
• Familiar with methods like Value Engineering/Value Analysis (VA/VE), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Design and set-up of assembly/manufacturing cells, Quick Changeover (SMED), Production Leveling (Heijunka), Pull and Just-in-time-system, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), A3 Structured Problem Solving, Mentoring, and related
• Effective project management skills

Management & Soft Skills

• Able to teach, manage and instruct subordinates
• Motivating leadership personality
• Strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills

Responsibilities

• Independently conducting consulting projects as a team leader
• Conducting dedicated training events with the Staufen Lean Academy
• Preparation, composition and delivery of Staufen consulting proposals
• Supporting the business development team for growth and knowledge management
• Coaching and promotion of Lean Thinking for our clients team and management

Organization

• Reporting to the Director Business Unit “Lean Manufacturing”
• Supervising the members of project teams

Language ability

• Fluent in Mandarin and English – oral and written
• German language skills are a plus

Location

Based at the head office in Shanghai. Willingness for domestic and international travel is required.
