Determine, structure and implement target costs
For managers of medium sized production operations, leading employees from the areas of controlling, purchase, development, production and sales, heads of development projects, project purchasers and supplier technical assistants.
The increasing price pressure and efforts to maximise profits in the industry require innovative products to be introduced and the consistent implementation of possible saving potentials in order to be internationally competitive - now and in the future. In order to achieve this, company structures and processes are needed which convey effective cooperation in all areas and in fact from the beginning: from the product ideas right up to readiness for production.
This cooperation should not end at the factory gates, but must be an active part of the added value chain. Target Costing is a method for early integration of suppliers in order to recognize, evaluate and open up possible potential holistically through partnership behaviour.
The global demand for cost reduction leads way too much to higher total costs in the long term, e.g. due to quality problems, task force activities and lack of process security.
